A short devotional on Hebrews 6:10-12.

Good Morning! I'm your host Lonnie Wibberding, and you are listening to God Notes.  A daily devotional podcast sent out from sunny Southern California.

Today is Saturday, January 13, 2024.

Some days along the Christian journey are full of light and joy. When everything is clicking and things are going well it's easy to have hope, and peace, and faith. It seems like nothing can go wrong and God is all powerful.

Then there are other days.

Days that feel dark and gray. Days when you wonder if anything you do makes a difference. Paul the Apostle said, as he was talking about times like these that he "despaired even of life."

But there is something the Christian has the rest of the world doesn't. Knowledge there is a God and things will get better. Sometimes it is hard to see. Sometimes it takes reaching out in faith, grasping through the darkness to God. But we know there is hope out there.

Our text today reminds us God sees. He sees our efforts to make the world a better place. He sees what we are trying to do.

Hebrews 6:10-12 says:

"God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised."

Are you going through a dark time? God sees. He knows all that you have done for Him. He will not forget your work. Keep on keeping on.

May God Bless your day. We'll talk again tomorrow.
